The AUGust National
Est. 2013
Welcome to the 5th Major
RULES:
• A scramble means that all team members tee of on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.
• The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the original shot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot.
• If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.) or the rough, you cannot drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.
• This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, excluding putts. Putting can be in any order as the team sees fit.
• Putts need to be made within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole).
• There is no such thing as a “mulligan”, or “gimme putt”. Man up and put the fucking ball in the hole.
• Each player's tee shot must be used at least twice during the 18-hole competition. Once on the front 9 and once on the back 9. If you fail to use someone’s tee shot, there will be an automatic stroke added to your score at the end of the round for each person’s tee shot that was not used.
• Betting and gambling is encouraged.
• Any Penalty strokes will be added after the round(s)
• The AUGust Nationals max handicap is 24.0, Individuals who have a handicap higher than 24.0 will be adjusted to down to 24.0
• The AUGust Nationals 2023 scores will be kept on Squabbit. Handicaps will be applied both days and strokes will be given on certain holes indicated by a dot on your score card.
• In the case of a tie, all of the teams that are tied will replay the 18th hole (or whatever hole the course will allow). The team that wins that hole, wins the tournament. If there is a tie on the 18th hole, you will continue playing until there is a winner. These rules are expected to be followed by you and your team. If you or your team is caught cheating, you will be disqualified from the tournament. We won’t ask you to come back either. Remember guys, this is a gentlemen’s sport and no one will like you if you do
Team Handicap Formula
(P1*0.2+P2*0.15+P3*0.1+P4*0.05)
(P1 being the lowest handicap player, P4 being the highest handicap player)
Course Handicap = Team Handicap x Slope rating / 113
